Cortina, Arabba and the Marmolada, Falcade, Alleghe, Misurina and the Zoldo Valley are just a few of the best-known locations in the Belluno area, but the heritage of the Dolomites consists of more than just famous mountains: there are the small villages, pastures, streams and waterfalls, dense forests and beautiful blue skies.

The Dolomites give the best between sports, food and wine and love for traditions in a continuous thread between present and past, between innovation and memory.

Discover

The entire province of Belluno, however, is full of precious treasures, all waiting to be discovered. Here are some tips.
The city of Feltre is undoubtedly a destination not to be missed, also mentioned by Dante in the Divine Comedy, within its walls you can still breathe an ancient atmosphere, walking on the cobblestones in the small alleys, among the store windows and taverns that lead to Piazza Maggiore, where a steep climb leads up to the castle of Alboino. Then more museums, historic buildings, the cathedral and archaeological area, the palio and fairs in the old town.
The National Park of the Belluno Dolomites is a large protected natural area within which there are places of sublime charm, such as the Piani Eterni basin, the Cadini of Val Brenton and the Cascata della Soffia waterfall, the Vette Feltrine, the Monti del Sole and the Valle Imperina.
There is also no shortage of trails for simple walks or long hikes to discover the flora and fauna that inhabit these ravines of unspoiled nature.

Flavors

The flavors of an area are the best way to learn about its history and traditions. The Belluno area has a lot to offer, and if polenta is perhaps the best known of Belluno's dishes, it must be said that to accompany it there are truly irresistible dishes.
Pastin, ground meat that resembles a hamburger but has a whole other flavor, the cheeses that small dairies produce and that preserve all the flavor of a tradition handed down from father to son, the very famous Fagioli di Lamon, radicchio from Santa Giustina, honey and beer from the Dolomites, Feltre walnut, lamb from Alpago and truffles from Arsiè, and homemade desserts. You just have to choose where to start.

Historical center of Belluno

Medieval streets, squares and St. Martin's Cathedral are within walking distance.

Duran Pass

This pass is located between the Cordevole Valley and the Zoldo Valley. Crossing Duran Pass feels like entering a more rugged side of the Dolomites. It is ideal for driving, stopping, taking a hike or two and enjoying the alpine views.

Lake Misurina

About 85 km from Belluno, this tranquil lake surrounded by mountain peaks is perfect for a relaxing day trip and peaceful walks.
